    Martin Kimber brings over 50 years of comprehensive mining experience to the ConsultMine technical team, combining deep operational expertise with innovative technology solutions. His career spans from underground operations to executive leadership, making him a uniquely qualified consultant for complex mining challenges.

    Technical Expertise & Current Role 

    As the Mining Engineer/Ventilation Officer with Northern Star Resources and Karora Resources, Martin specialised in ventilation systems design, compliance auditing, and risk management. His technical capabilities encompass underground mining operations, shaft development, ventilation circuit optimisation, and statutory compliance across both coal and hard rock mining environments.

    Leadership & Project Management Experience Martin’s leadership credentials include project management roles with major mining companies including Newcrest Mining (Havieron Project), Peabody Energy, and international projects in Saudi Arabia and Thailand. As former CEO of M.A.C., he built a multi-million dollar technology consultancy, demonstrating his business acumen alongside technical expertise.

    Innovation & Software Development A pioneer in mining compliance technology, Martin developed specialised software for legislative compliance, safety management, and risk assessment that is currently deployed across multiple Australian and international mining operations. This system operates in five languages and continues to evolve to meet industry needs, showcasing his commitment to advancing mining technology.

    Compliance & Safety Excellence Martin’s extensive experience includes roles as Compliance Superintendent, Ventilation Auditor, and Safety Manager, with proven expertise in developing comprehensive compliance systems, conducting statutory audits, and implementing safety management protocols. His work has consistently delivered measurable improvements in safety performance and regulatory compliance across diverse mining operations.

    & RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

    Peter Burger

     

     

    Peter Burger brings nearly six decades of geological expertise to the ConsultMine team, specialising in nickel-cobalt laterite deposits and critical mineral exploration across the Southwest Pacific region. His distinguished career spans five countries and includes the recognition of world-class mineral deposits that had previously been overlooked by the industry.

    Discovery & Recognition Achievements Peter’s most notable achievement was recognising the significant Weda Bay Ni/Co laterite deposits on Halmahera Island, Indonesia, from an aircraft window during a routine flight. Despite earlier identification by Dutch geologists, these substantial deposits had been overlooked in recent exploration campaigns, demonstrating Peter’s exceptional geological intuition and pattern recognition abilities that have defined his career.

    Technical Specialisation & Innovation With extensive experience evaluating Ni/Co laterite deposits across eastern and western Australia, New Caledonia, Indonesia, and The Philippines, Peter has developed deep expertise in laterite geology and processing challenges. He is currently pioneering the development of a revolutionary low-capital-cost, environmentally sustainable process to extract nickel and cobalt from laterite resources, with significant potential to expand the global resource base for critical battery metals.

    Diverse Mineral Expertise Beyond laterites, Peter possesses specialised knowledge in deep lead cassiterite deposit evaluation and mining in NSW and Queensland, along with experience in nickel and copper sulphide deposits. This diverse mineral portfolio expertise enables him to provide comprehensive geological consulting across multiple commodity sectors.

    Academic Excellence & Industry Leadership Holding a Master of Science in Mining and Exploration Geology from James Cook University of North Queensland, Peter combines rigorous academic training with practical field experience.     Frank Yang brings a unique combination of mining engineering expertise and electrical systems knowledge to the ConsultMine team. Frank represents the new generation of mining professionals who combine traditional mining fundamentals with modern technological capabilities.

    Technical Excellence & Education Frank’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor’s degree in Building Electricity and Intelligence from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, providing him with cross-disciplinary expertise that enhances his mining engineering capabilities. His current studies at WASM focus on mine ventilation analysis and underground mining operations, with hands-on experience using industry-standard software including Ventsim and Maptek Vulcan.

    Practical Mining Experience Frank has gained valuable hands-on experience through his roles where he supports mechanical and electrical installation, maintenance, and repairs at active mine sites. This practical experience, combined with his comprehensive safety certifications including confined space entry, gas testing, and working at heights, demonstrates his commitment to operational excellence and safety standards.

    International Perspective & Project Management His professional background as an Electromechanical Design Engineer in China, where he managed M&E system design for residential projects across multiple cities, showcases his project coordination abilities and stakeholder management skills. This international experience brings valuable perspective to ConsultMine’s global consulting approach.

    Multilingual Capabilities Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, Frank enables ConsultMine to effectively serve clients across Australia’s increasingly diverse mining sector and support international projects, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region where his language skills and cultural understanding provide significant advantages.
